Your 2021 marketing plan – getting to know your best prospects better
For your 2021 marketing, try building better quality relationships with a smaller number of potential clients. Getting to know your best prospects better. This is not to the exclusion of new business development or your existing customers!
Given budgets are limited, try concentrating your marketing efforts on dialogue with customers or prospects you know best – or would like to know better. This isn’t ‘cold calling’; it’s say your top 10 or 20 – the ones you want to do (more) business with, you know to some degree and already have communication with.
Think about how to segment your marketing databases to ‘get under the skin’ of their behaviour and intentions – their industry sector, needs and attitude to your product or service.
Also think about some personal interaction, not another email – suggest a 15-20 minute Zoom or ‘phone call to them.
Be topical and relevant, seek their views on some ‘big picture’ subjects you know may be of interest to them. You’re not trying to sell to them, but do have ready some ‘USP’s’ your business could offer they might not be able to get anywhere else, or may not have even thought about?
